That's a great article, and certainly shows that our eating habits are somewhat psychological, even sub-consciously psychological!
So the take home is:
 - Eat with friends who care about nutrition, and watch their portion size.
 - Having a group of friends who are dieting with you may help you stay on track.
I'm currently reading a book called The Me Myth by a well known author in Australia called Andrew Griffiths. http://www.thememyth.com.au/
He talks about the importance of surrounding yourself with the type of people you want to be like, and delicately removing the negative people in your life who bring you down. I guess eating fits the same kind of patterns.
