When I started my weight loss journey in September of 2020, I was 180.2 lbs. As a 5'-7" woman, this was the heaviest I had ever been and all my BMI and bodyfat measurements were listing me as overweight/borderline obese. I knew I needed to get to work but needed to do it in a way that was sustainable for my body to minimize the yo-yo effect.
Now, almost 3 years later, I celebrate any 5 lb drop as a celebration! I was stuck at 150-152 for the longest time and it was disheartening. I began adding in more weight/strength training (muscle burns more calories) and today reached a weight of 146 lbs!
Taking my BMI and body fat percentage into account now, I am "acceptable" and borderline in the "fitness" zone! I am happy with the progress I see in the mirror, I love myself and preach affirmations over myself every day! The change has been a long time coming but I am extremely proud of myself! I am now only 10 lbs away from my initial goal weight and after losing close to 35 lbs, I have no doubt I can make the last 10 happen!
