For gaining muscle, I've found working out 3x a week (3 sets of 6 different full-ish body compound exercises to work alright. For maintaining, can I get away with 2x a week?

You could still gain muscle with 2 workouts if intense enough and you take in enough protein. Don't do the same exercises though all the time. Mix it up a bit and try different machines or routines or your body will get used to doing the same thing and will not be as effective.

Hello Turducken! If you are doing full-ish body workouts every day then the amount of workouts that you do in a week may not be the correct way to track muscle gain or loss. Instead you could focus on the weight you are lifting, the reps, and form. If you do not apply progressive overload you won’t see the results and instead will just maintain your muscle mass. Progressive overload is the idea that once your body is strong enough to perform a certain weight for a certain number of reps, you should increase the weight and/or reps to maximize stress going to your muscles. This will cause the muscles to grow stronger than before. But to answer your original question I think it would be okay to do two workouts a week to maintain your muscle- but remember there’s always room for improvement!
