I've been counting calories since January, a slow but steady success so far but now I've decided to quit smoking as well using an app and I'm just worried I'm setting myself up for failure and that each is doable on it's own but not together.
Is there anyone out there who's had any success in quitting smoking while on a diet? Any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks :)

Thanks, I figure with mind over matter we can do anything, so I'm changing everything I don't like about myself for yes a brand new start! ( just trying not to feel overwhelmed lol)

Don't over worry, just do the best that you can each day. If you have a bad day or two that's ok. Keep up your spirits.

I found replacing my smoking habit with a healthy alternative really helped for me. I picked up yoga when I quit and found this super helpful. I spent the money I saved on buying cigarettes to join a studio and buy a mat, and would do yoga every time I wanted a cigarette. Even at work you can take a stretch break instead of a smoke break. Plus, calories burned from yoga will help with your weight loss goals. Yoga may not be right for you, but finding a healthy physical activity to replace smoking with really helped me a lot. I haven't had nicotine in a year and 5 months now and I'm in better shape then when I was a teenager.

Hi Slimmersal- Congrats on tracking AND quitting smoking. I think you are going about this in a very healthy way. From what you shared it sounds like you started tracking and making dietary changes in January and just now tackled smoking. I think you were wise not to start both at the same time. Did you see Negraham's post? Yoga might serve as just the distraction you need when you are craving a cigarette.

I quit smoking 3 weeks ago while on a diet a well. I found that I was so focused on weight loss and what I was eating that it kept me from thinking about cigs. And I've continued to lose weight which is great! I didn't think it would be possible to do both at the same time but having something else to focus on makes quitting smoking easy.
