I currently do fasts and counting calories and for me personally it is working but I am careful not to restrict myself from eating what I want

Fasting doesn’t work for me could it be because I’m in my 50s??

Hi U119182211110. Fasting isn’t something for everyone.
It doesn’t work for me either & I’m 53.
I find taking a common sense approach, using MND & including intense physical activity is the best approach for myself.
Honestly I think fasting & calorie counting may provide short term results but long term it is not sustainable.
Too many people want quick results, and don’t understand this needs to be a lifestyle change.
We all find what works best for us I guess.

I think I will also need to count calories. I am 62 and have a history of weight loss and gain. I dont think I have an natural sense of how much I need to eat. If you want to hear something funny that when I am gaining weight I am always hungry and when I start loosing weight my body adjusts to the weight loss mode.
Fasting(except maybe between dinner and breakfast) does not work for me. Regular eating times does.

@CeliaBoston - I recently read a very interesting article saying the middle age weight gain does not have to do with a decrease in metabolism. Instead it occurs because our bodies need more protein than a younger person before they can process the protein efficiently. Therefore the middle age gain is something we can control.
After reading that I consciously starting adding/increasing protein into what I eat & it has made a huge difference in how I feel & the energy I have.
I only weigh myself once a month & have just under that last stubborn 5lbs to go, so I will keep you posted on that!

Quick question? I’m on the way to loosing 12kg and I’m new to all of this, especially healthy eating and getting into the right mindset, currently I’ve been walking 3ks per day and have been sticking to 1500 calories as planned, I was wondering if you guys had any tips and tricks for my journey. kind regards
